Tasting Profile

The nose opens with dried apricot, candied orange peel, acacia honey, and soft vanilla. With time in the glass, toasted almond, fine spice, polished oak, and a gentle rancio character emerge—elegant rather than assertive.

On the palate, the texture is silky, refined, and remarkably clear, gliding effortlessly across the tongue. The finish is long and warming, leaving impressions of dried fruits, delicate spice, and mature wood without heaviness or sweetness.

Blend from 40 to 60 years

François Voyer Hors d’Âge Cristal is aged far beyond the official minimum required for the Hors d’Âge designation. The Cognac is composed of carefully selected eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne, matured patiently over several decades in French oak barrels.

Aging is carried out with a philosophy of restraint. Rather than relying on heavy oak extraction, the spirit evolves slowly through controlled oxidation, allowing the natural finesse of Grande Champagne to remain at the forefront. Over time, the interaction between spirit, air, and wood softens the structure, deepens aromatic complexity, and develops a refined rancio character without excessive woodiness or sweetness.

The result is a Cognac shaped primarily by time, not technique—clear, harmonious, and elegantly mature, with a silky texture and a long, composed finish that reflects true extended aging.
