Baron De Sigognac CARAFE 75 ans (700 ml)

Baron de Sigognac is one of the historic estates of Bas-Armagnac, located in Gascony, where the sandy, iron-rich sables fauves soils produce spirits known for aromatic intensity and remarkable aging potential.

Unlike Cognac, which is double-distilled, Armagnac is traditionally distilled once in a continuous column still. This method preserves more congeners, resulting in richer texture and deeper complexity—qualities that become extraordinary with very long aging.

The 75 Ans age statement signifies that the youngest eau-de-vie in the blend has matured for at least 75 years in French oak barrels. Over decades, evaporation (“the angels’ share”) gradually concentrates the spirit while oak interaction and gentle oxidation develop layers of tertiary aromas and the prized rancio character—nutty, earthy, oxidative notes that only extremely old Armagnac can achieve.
