Baron de Sigognac is a historic estate in Bas-Armagnac, Gascony, known for its traditional production and long-aged releases. The region’s sandy, iron-rich sables fauves soils yield spirits with aromatic intensity and exceptional longevity.

Armagnac is traditionally distilled once in a continuous still, preserving more congeners and natural texture than double-distilled Cognac. This method contributes to the fuller body and more rustic authenticity that define Bas-Armagnac.

The “50 Ans” age statement signifies that the youngest eau-de-vie in the blend has matured for at least 50 years in French oak. Over decades, slow oxidation and interaction with wood create profound tertiary layers and the signature rancio character—nutty, earthy, slightly oxidative notes that only very old Armagnac can develop.
