Baron de Sigognac is a historic Bas-Armagnac estate known for estate-grown, traditionally distilled Armagnac. Located in the heart of Gascony, the estate benefits from the region’s distinctive sables fauves soils—iron-rich sandy terrain that produces aromatic, age-worthy spirits.

Unlike Cognac, which is double-distilled in pot stills, Armagnac is typically distilled once in a continuous Armagnac still. This method preserves more congeners, giving the spirit greater texture, aromatic depth, and a slightly more rustic identity.

The “20 Ans” age statement signifies a minimum of 20 years maturation in French oak casks. Over two decades, slow oxidation and interaction with oak develop tertiary layers—rancio, toasted nuts, leather, and dried fruit—while softening the spirit into a smooth, integrated profile.

This is a mature Armagnac designed for slow appreciation—complex, expressive, and grounded in tradition.
